Some staff were very pleasant breakfast was good garden was nice location for convenience in shopping was excellent
Booking was not confirmed by your company. 20min delay checking in charge for internet ,charge for carpark unacceptable. Allocated room was poor quality and had to negotiate upgrade. Hotel very worn and tatty for money charged.
I liked the people on staff. Everyone was helpful and delightful. I knew the hotel was old and not too ritzy and that's what I liked about it. The computer wake-up call didn't work in the morning but the following day staff called me personally. I had trouble with the phone in my room and there was noise from the room next door. Staff allowed me to make calls from another room, solving my most pressing problem in a creative way. Noise is a fact of life in older hotels and I tried to keep my TV and noise down and believe the people next to me did as well. From the breakfast buffet to food service in the retaurant and bar, and the same day laundry service... things were done efficiently and on time and the people were most helpful. I felt so at home there. I loved the location, the people, the antiques. The breakfast and all my meals were great. The noisy plumbing, ancient phones, small lift, were not only charming but I'm sure the fact that it's not all modernized keeps the price down a bit. I did not have a car and the location was perfect as I could walk to lgreat shops, restaurants, pubs, etc. It was not a luxury modern hotel, and it was a bit pricey. But it was place I felt at home and could really relax after two weeks of travel around Europe. The ambience and people made it a good experience and I look forward to returning.
I do wish the phone in my room had worked properly but the staff cheerfully allowed me to use one in another room. I also wish the wake-up-call computer system had worked, but again.. staff took care of me on departure day by calling me personally. The only thing I will really complain about is the internet being charged by the hour and it's almost impossible to disconnect it from an iPad. The charges are far too high from anything I have encountered in my travels and it will discourage business people particularly and I felt the rate I was paying should have included free internet. This hotel is not for everyone but I enjoy the antique and unique. I really loved this hotel and I look forward to my next visit from the USA.
Lovely friendly staff in breakfast room only and lovely light conservatory and good choice of continental breakfast but cooked breakfast inedible not nice at all.
Very uncomfortable soft beds.Hotel rooms very shabby with dirty wallpaper and peeling wallpaper too desperately needs upgrading and refurbishing.Bathroom was clean.Main light fitting was broken so as light was on all the time could not get to sleep until 2a.M.so did not enjoy stay.Reported broken light to reception in morning did not seem interested. Our small well behaved spaniel was charged £25.00 for the one night stay.We have never been charged this amount even at a Hilton Hotel. We were so disappointed in this dated hotel even charged for carparking £10.00 per night. We did not enjoy our anniversary due to the poor quality hotel.THe cooked breakfast was inedible with rubbery sausages and bacon but cereal joice and fresh fruit very nice
WiFi charge ridiculously high.
the location is excellent. Old world charm, but a very comfortable bed. Great selection for breakfast. Staff were charming and friendly.
carpeting quite warn or bare in places. parking is expensive - £10 per day.
Excellent breakfast, dog friendly, great for the races
rooms too hot, poor service in the bar, would have preferred a kings sized bed rather than 2 singles pushed together
Well located with an ambiance suited to Cheltenham and its history with horseracing.
The automatic bathroom fan in our ensuite was horrendously noisy ... the old hotel is a little tired.
Atmosphere and breakfast in conservatory!

The staff were extremly helpful and friendly, always on hand and polite. Also I ws a great location.
Slightly disappointed with the inside of the hotel. I have always wanted to stay there as it is the premier hotel in cheltenham but found the interior very old and seriously in need of redecoration.
This hotel has a beautiful exterior and is well situated in the town centre, near shops, restaurants, and theatres. My room had some updated features, such as a flat panel TV and king-sized bed, which I most appreciated.
I have stayed in many hotels similar to the Queens throughout the UK, and I felt that, compared to those, my room was not in as good condition. It's a lovely hotel but needs refurbishing.
Very pleasant Hotel to stay in in excellent location in Chelt..Breakfast could be improved by hot plates.Low fat milk would be good.
We liked the location, the general ambience of the hotel, the excellent breakfast, and the comfort of our room
We found service at dinner very slow, possibly because the staff were also attending to a large party in an adjacent room
Excellent central location and friendly efficient staff.
The high number of young (aged 7 to 10) children on the loose in the hotel apparently unsupervised.
Very well situated great atmosphere friendly staff
Bedroom was small not a bit like on web site only had a four foot 6 bed
The hotel is nice and clean though there was renouvation work and scafolding outside. The room was nice and comfortable.
The room we booked did not match the pictures in booking webside. Also we were surprised to find out that the price did not include breakfast the internet was not free and they charged for parking we did not eat in the hotel so we dont know how the food was.
